Remove a leaning tree which is 16 to 20 feetExperience and Good Comments
I have a tree (phonia shrub) in the backyard. It was damaged by the wind and rain. The root was damaged partially. The tree has a lot of branches.
I hired one certified arborist to evaluate the situation of the tree. He said we have to remove the tree. No permit is needed as this is a shrub. They asked for $1400 to remove it.
I bid two tree service providers. One is $500 and the other is $575. I called Hitman and we finished the bid by uploading some pictures. The bid is $405 plus tax.
They came on time. Mike (the owner) climbed up the tree to cut down the branches. They are pretty decent in cleaning up the cut down branches. Even if the branch falls into the backyard of our neighborhood, they use the rope to get it out.
They also use rope to make sure the big branch will fall in the right place.
They do not do the root grinding. They cut the root as lower as possible.
They finished the job in 100 minutes.
The most amazing thing is they cleaned up the leaves left on the way as well. It is pretty clean after they finished everything.
Not for this one. However, please pay attention they will not be responsible for asking the tree removal permit for you. You need to take care yourself. For this one, it is OK as I already got the information from another arborist

Give a report and consultation suggestions for a nearly falling treeExperience and Good Comments
I have a tree in my backyard. The tree's root was hurt during the storm. As the tree is a privacy wall between my home and one of my neighborhoods, instead of hiring someone to remove the tree directly, I am trying to go through the Sammamish Hazard tree removal process on https://www.sammamish.us/media/55279/hazard-tree-removal-form.pdf to avoid some hassles.
This process requires a TRAQ certified Professional Arborist licensed by the International Society of Arboriculture evaluate your tree(s). This vendor has this license.
Their fee is $150 (without tax) for the onsite consultation. If you hire them for the further service such as tree removal, the consultation fee will deducted from the final job.
The specialist come to my home at the second day as scheduled. He suggested the tree has to be removed. However, as the tree is a shrub, no permit is required.
He gave me a proposal with their bid price. The bid price is $1400 to remove a tree which is very high. The bid is 3 times of other companies (Of course, other companies might not have TRAQ certified.) I will not ask them to do the tree removal part.
The price of their tree removal service is the way high than the usual service providers. They bid $1400 to remove a tree and another $450 to grind the root.
Other two providers just need $500 to $575 to remove the tree.
If you do not need a strict TRAQ certified Professional, I will not suggest you go with this provider.

Mover and packer (House moving)Experience and Good Comments
Nothing goodNot-So-Good Comments
Please don't book this mover service (All one moving) at all. We booked them to move our stuff from Seattle to Bothell nearly a week back. We called them to confirm 1 day back and they said they are confirmed to come at the scheduled time of 8 AM. However, on the day of our appointment with them, they didn't come till 1:30 PM and intentionally kept their phones switched off and weren't reachable at all. They also didn't care to inform us if they will be coming or not.
As a result, we had to delay our plan to move houses by one day (after waiting for nearly 6 hours with everything kept packed) and had to call 20 more movers before finding one mover for the next day. Would strongly recommend not using this moving service at all unless you want to try your luck to not keep yourself stranded without any prior information.

To replace furnaceExperience and Good Comments
It is time to replace the 20 years furnace after the motor broke and some pipe leaking, which are identified by another Heating company who doesn't do furnace replacement anymore. Called Alex and made the appointment for the 2nd day. Alex recommended a new 95% efficiency model, with 80,000 BTU, which should be sufficient for my 2500 sqf house.
After checking the brand, model, price, warranty and etc, Alex's guys came in the next business day and completed the job nice and neat.
It is time to enjoy the new quiet furnace. (the cost above is after Tax.)
Last but not the least, make sure you check if you are qualified for PSE $350 rebate and IRS $150 tax credit.

A residential rental property agentExperience and Good Comments
If I can give Damian Husak a negative rating, I will not hesitate to do so.
I wish I had seen the previous complaints of Damian Husak so my wife and I would absolutely not submit our application and paid the screening fees as we were trying to rent a residential property in Kirkland recently, which Damian serves as a leasing agent.
Damian didn’t appear when we tour the rental property so we were self-touring, it was understandable during the pandemic. He is slow on responding to our questions if he responses and things got worse after we submitted the application and received the notice of acceptance from Damian. During the period while we were waiting for the lease and asking about the information of the property and the landlord, he said” if you’re too concerned, we can move on to a different tenant.” And “the landlords won’t sign the lease in person, but name matches of property title will be provided”.
We received the lease at 10 am on Tuesday from Damian and we asked again for name matches and related information of the lease, he threatened us to sign the lease by end of the day, otherwise, he will reject our application. Without any further communication with us, he rejected our application at 11 am. When we asked for an adverse action notice which is regulated in the Washington State law, he just ignored the request and didn’t respond again.
I hardly imagine such a person can work well with anyone else, not to mention serving as a leasing agent. Though we lost $98 dollars, fortunately, we see this guy through and learn a lesson. I strongly urge anyone who sees these negative recommendations of Damian Husak DO NOT consider dealing with him. No tenants should suffer from his terrible manners, passiveness, and illegal behaviors.
